Where they started
A women's fashion brand for "urban, culturally rooted, educated" women of 28 to 45, size-inclusive up to 3XL, with tops and co-ord sets at ₹1,249 to ₹1,499 (onboarding form, 5 June 2025; storefront checked 13 September 2026). A large organic following — 151,000 Instagram followers, confirmed genuine on the 27 July 2026 call — and no paid channel. Retainer ₹30,000 a month from 25 August 2025 plus 2% of Shopify sales. June 2025, the first month: ₹16,943 of Meta spend, no orders; July: three orders.
What Monastic Media did
- Spent the first three months finding the buyer before spending money — ₹6,153 in August 2025 — and only stepped to ₹70,000 a month from September once orders came (sheet).
- Set month-by-month targets with the founder in writing: ₹2 lakh at 3.5x for October, ₹3 lakh at 2.7 for January, ₹4 lakh at 2.5 to 3 for March (sheet target rows).
- Listed the best-sellers on the product page, kept trousers and co-ord sets as the key categories, and ran the account on a creatives bank organised by month (minutes, Creatives tab).
- Pulled spend back to ₹1,200 a day in April and May 2026 when return on spend was highest, and lifted it to ₹4,000 a day for the June push (target rows).
- Read Meta's number against Shopify's every week — "Meta sales near 19,000, Shopify around 28,000; tracking differences noted" (10 August 2026) — and moved the account to a new owner in September with a content-improvement brief.
What changed
- Store revenue → orders (sheet): July 2025 ₹13,192 → 3; September ₹1,06,306 → 77; December ₹1,52,140 → 102; January 2026 ₹1,73,206 → 110; March ₹2,24,708 → 137 (3.0x, ₹551 a order); April ₹1,20,983 → 78 (4.1x on ₹29,551); May ₹1,87,110 → 109 (3.5x); June ₹2,02,129 → 129; July ₹1,55,647 → 102; August ₹1,09,238 → 85 (1.36x).
- The client's 2% incentive invoices confirm the base: ₹1,54,870 (December 2025), ₹2,24,829 (March 2026), ₹2,19,734 (June), ₹1,09,723 (August).
- "Sharp drop after 50% surge early last month; urgent focus on improving sales" (call, 10 August 2026); the 7 September call recorded low revenue on two product lines and a change of account owner.
- Fifteen months retained; 13 invoiced months, ₹5.17 lakh of fees.
The target, as the client stated it
Sheet targets: ₹3 lakh at 2.7 (January 2026) — not reached (₹1.73 lakh); ₹4 lakh at 2.5–3 (March) — not reached (₹2.25 lakh at 3.0); ₹2–3 lakh at 3.5 (June) — revenue reached (₹2.02 lakh), return not (2.4). Instagram: "goal is 200,000 by month-end from current 151,000 followers" (27 July 2026) — not on record as reached.
Status: partly reached.
The question this answers
"We have a big Instagram but no sales — can paid turn followers into buyers?" Nine months from a first paid order to ₹2.25 lakh at 3x, without buying followers; and an honest August.
