How we run it
How we run it, why, and how it works
Research & offer Week 1 to 2
What we do
We focus the first week on turning visits into orders, the brand’s main problem, on a smaller base. We get the store ready for paid traffic first: reviews and trust pointers on product pages, a visible return window, an about page and a reason to pay upfront. We lead with craft: handcrafted or made-to-order positioning, with personalised pieces up front.
Why
In this case study, a smaller jewellery brand grows monthly revenue in 2 months, from ₹10,000–₹20,000 to ₹3L–₹5L (26.7x). Fewer than one in ten of our measured accounts grew that fast in the same time, so the case study follows the pace of that top tenth rather than forcing the number. The main problem in this scenario is turning visits into orders. Conversion rate caps what any ad budget can return. Jewellery buyers decide on the piece and the story behind it.
How it works
Fixes are listed and handed over early, so later budget lands on a store that converts. Personalised pieces open the prospecting ads.
Measurement & reviews Week 1 to 9
What we do
We set the path from ₹10,000–₹20,000 to ₹3L–₹5L as written weekly numbers, and read every review against the week so far. We track ad-platform revenue beside store orders in a shared daily sheet. We raise budget in a week only while return holds; where it starts to slip too far, we hold it.
Why
No starting return on ad spend was given; the starting return is what measured jewellery stores of that size hold. A shortfall is caught in the week it happens, not at the end. Platform attribution over-counts, so budget decisions sit on the store-side number.
How it works
Written monthly numbers make each scaling decision explicit. Budget decisions are read off store numbers, not the ad platform alone. Where return starts to slip too far, the week keeps last week's budget.
Creative testing Week 1 to 4
What we do
We lead the testing layer with video and catalogue ads, building to a handful of new ads a month by the last four weeks, with no format far behind the account's return. We show the piece: product-only singles and carousels, swapped the moment they stop converting. We make trust the subject of the video: creator reels, customer feedback and founder-led clips. We test static images beside video.
Why
Jewellery buyers decide on the piece, and fatigue sets in fast. In most accounts we measured, video that carried trust held its return. Among the jewellery accounts we measured, static image was the format most often in the top creative tier.
How it works
Creatives are rotated on conversion, not on a calendar. Low-quality UGC is pulled and founder-led video takes its place. Statics are added after a video wins. The number of new ads grows with spend; video makes up the largest part and catalogue ads the next.
Scaling Week 5 to 9
What we do
We scale through Week 5 to Week 9 toward ₹3L–₹5L as the budget rises gently while return holds, with Instagram Reels taking the largest share of spend and Facebook Feed the next. We recover abandoned checkouts with WhatsApp messages as traffic grows. We scale into the festive and wedding calendar with seasonal collection campaigns.
Why
Across Week 5 to Week 9, the budget rises gently, while return on spend holds. Four of these weeks stop their budget step where return starts to slip too far. In one of these weeks budget holds, because return is below the level where more budget pays. Each budget step here is sized so that return stays close to where it was. WhatsApp is cheaper than paid retargeting for buyers who already reached checkout.
How it works
WhatsApp recovery runs alongside paid retargeting, not instead of it. Budget moves between regions as the calendar turns. Most of the last four weeks's spend sits on Instagram Reels, then Facebook Feed. Prospecting to new buyers takes the bulk of spend, while retargeting returns more for each rupee.
Milestones
Milestones by week
- Week 1
First, the set-up: the first ads run on a small daily budget while tracking is checked against store orders. Store fixes go live: reviews, trust pointers and the prepaid offer. Store orders and ad-platform revenue are checked side by side.
- Revenue ₹3,766
- ROAS 1.87x
- Ad spend ₹2,017
- Week 2
The first read of the ads is in, and the ones that do not convert stop. Spend holds, and return holds.
- Revenue ₹3,848
- ROAS 1.91x
- Ad spend ₹2,010
- Week 3
Offers and store fixes switch on as the first orders confirm. More budget does not pay at this return, so spend holds, and return holds.
- Revenue ₹3,852
- ROAS 1.92x
- Ad spend ₹2,010
- Week 4
The learning phase ends with a buyer identified and a winning ad chosen. Spend holds, and return holds.
- Revenue ₹3,610
- ROAS 1.91x
- Ad spend ₹1,891
- Week 5
Scaling begins: abandoned checkouts get WhatsApp follow-ups. Budget goes up only as far as return can carry it: spend holds, and return holds.
- Revenue ₹3,891
- ROAS 1.87x
- Ad spend ₹2,079
- Week 6
Customer-feedback and creator videos are refreshed.
- Revenue ₹3,982
- ROAS 1.88x

- Week 7
The seasonal collection campaign leads this period's spend mix.
- Revenue ₹4,055
- ROAS 1.88x
- Ad spend ₹2,162
- Week 8

- Revenue ₹4,134
- ROAS 1.91x
- Ad spend ₹2,160
- Week 9
Product-only creatives that stop converting are swapped. Budget goes up only as far as return can carry it: spend holds, and return holds. The case study finishes short of ₹3L–₹5L: budget stops rising where return starts to slip. Cost per purchase ends higher than in the learning phase.
- Revenue ₹4,119
- ROAS 1.94x
- Ad spend ₹2,125
